Parts Of Indiana Dunes National Park Closed to Visitors March 23rd

Indiana Dunes National Park

On March 23rd, the entire Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk site will be closed all day so large trucks and equipment can safely deliver and install boulders needed to shore up the accessible ramp west of the pavilion. Several other nearby national park beaches can be used. At the same time, Portage Lakefront is closed, including West Beach, located just north of US Highway 12 and County Line Road in Portage.

There will be no access to the Cowles Bog north parking lot on March 25th so contractors can safely remove a hazardous tree. The Cowles Bog Trail at Indiana Dunes National Park will still be accessible from the south lot located just north of US Highway 12 and Mineral Springs Road.
