Big Bear Lake live webcams let you check the ski slopes and watch a bald eagle nest before a mountain trip. Start with Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, then switch to the nest camera operated by Friends of Big Bear Valley. Use the weather map, official forecast and road reports below to put each picture in context.
This guide covers two resort base views in Big Bear Lake and an eagle nest in the wider Big Bear Valley. It does not provide a continuous shoreline view or camera coverage of every approach road. “See Before You Go” is the TwoVerbs webcam series.
Source pages reviewed Oct. 29, 2026. Resort embed addresses were found in the operator’s page code; moving live footage was not independently confirmed. The eagle operator lists Cam 2 as temporarily offline. Outside streams may pause, change or show recorded material; check timestamps and live indicators.

Current Big Bear Lake Weather and Mountain Conditions
The map is centered on Big Bear Lake at 34.26306°N, 116.91528°W. Its selected layer is forecast surface wind, with mph, Fahrenheit and inches as U.S. units. Check the timeline: forecast wind is separate from radar and is not a measured wind reading at a ski lift.
Open the National Weather Service forecast for Big Bear Lake for hourly conditions and any linked watches, warnings or advisories. Check the forecast close to departure and again for the return drive. Camera views can miss conditions beyond the frame.
1. Snow Summit Webcam: Base Area
Big Bear Mountain Resort lists a base-area camera at Snow Summit at 7,000 feet. This Snow Summit webcam gives you a starting point for the lower-slope scene. For Big Bear snow conditions, look at visible ground cover and visibility, then check the resort’s operating report before making plans.

Source: Official Snow Summit webcams. The operator also lists Miracle Mile, Slopeside and Westridge views. Use its page if this player fails; live playback has not been independently confirmed here.
A white slope does not tell you which lifts are operating. Use the resort’s mountain information navigation to reach its current lift and trail status, hours and parking details.
2. Bear Mountain Webcam: Base Area
The Bear Mountain webcam provides a separate base-area view, listed by the resort at 7,140 feet. Compare it with Snow Summit rather than assuming both facilities look the same. The camera covers a small part of the resort, so the image alone cannot establish conditions across its trails.

Source: Official Bear Mountain webcams. The page also lists The Scene and Peak views. This guide uses the base-area embed; it does not count the other tabs as separately checked cameras.
3. Big Bear Eagle Cam: Watch the Nest
For wildlife viewing, use the Big Bear eagle cam operated by Friends of Big Bear Valley. Its official page offers nest and wide-view streams. Watch remotely and allow for periods when no bird is in view.

Open the official bald eagle nest livestream. A stable embed address was not verified, so this section links directly to the operator. At review, its notice said wide-view Cam 2 was temporarily offline while solar batteries were being charged.
Treat the nest as a wildlife view, not a place to visit or a general weather station. The camera’s narrow scene cannot show lakewide conditions. Check the operator’s own updates for stream availability and wildlife context.
Big Bear Road Conditions and Chain Controls
Open Caltrans QuickMap and turn on Chain Controls, road closures, CHP incidents and cameras. Review the entire approach and return route, including the portions of state Routes 18, 38 or 330 that your trip uses. Do this before you drive.
Caltrans explains its chain requirements and installation rules. Follow current road signs and instructions at checkpoints. Requirements can change, and a clear base-area webcam does not establish that an approach road is open.
Big Bear Lake Weather Radar

Use National Weather Service radar and search for Big Bear Lake to check precipitation around your route. Read its observation time and compare it with the forecast. The radar page opens separately; no full-page weather site is embedded here.

Plan a Big Bear Lake Visit
Use Big Bear Lake live webcams as the first check, then confirm the details that a picture cannot answer. For a ski day, verify operating hours, tickets, lift status and parking with the resort. For a lake outing, confirm access and activity details with your destination.
Visit Big Bear’s local conditions page brings together road, weather, snow and lake resources. Keep a return-route plan as well as an arrival plan. A bright picture at the lake may tell you little about an earlier or later part of the drive.
For more camera-based trip planning, see TwoVerbs’ Sheboygan County webcam guide. Big Bear Lake live webcams serve the same purpose: a useful view, backed by official conditions and clear source links.
Questions About Webcams in Big Bear Lake

Which Big Bear Lake live webcams should I check first?
Start with Snow Summit’s base camera for its lower slopes, Bear Mountain’s base camera for a second resort view, or the Friends of Big Bear Valley nest camera for wildlife. These cover specific locations rather than every part of the lake or valley.
Can a webcam tell me whether chains are required?
No. Check Caltrans QuickMap’s Chain Controls and closure layers for your entire route. Follow posted signs and directions from Caltrans or the California Highway Patrol. A clear resort picture does not establish that the drive is clear.
Does the eagle camera always show an eagle?
No. Wildlife comes and goes, and an empty nest is normal. Use the operator’s updates for context. The operator listed its wide-view Cam 2 as temporarily offline during the Oct. 29, 2026, source review.
What time zone do Big Bear webcams use?
Big Bear Lake uses Pacific time: Pacific Standard Time in winter and Pacific Daylight Time during daylight saving time. Confirm the player’s timestamp and live indicator because a stream may use another display setting.
Why is a camera dark, frozen or unavailable?
Nighttime, weather, maintenance, internet problems and player restrictions can affect a feed. Check its timestamp, reload once and try the official source link. A blank image alone does not prove a power outage.
Are the pictures above the players’ live screenshots?
No. The supporting pictures in this guide are labeled AI-generated editorial illustrations. Use the external players or official source pages for camera footage, and check whether the displayed material is live or recorded.
